Had to leave several books in the box this week. But the good thing about getting the Scottsdale job back on the weekends is getting a decent paycheck again...

This week has the mucho delayed finale for Ambush Bug: Year None. Which mostly concentrates on making jokes about how late it is. Even going so far as being labeled issue #7 of 6...

Jack Jr makes a deal with some monsters in Jack of Fables. And original Jack's weight gain is explained in an unexpected way...

Also got last week's missed Beasts of Burden. With the guardian dogs (and 1 cat) of Burden Hill investigating a pair of missing pups. Which leads to some accidental ghost vengeance...

Models, Inc continues its murder mystery and has a brief cameo by Mary-Jane Watson. Though really the whole mini-series is worth it for me just for the 6-page back-up by Tobin and wife Colleen Coover featuring models vs. zombies...

Avengers: The Initiative still suffers from some lackluster art, but it remains one of the few titles where I can put up with Marvel's stupid over-plot. Plus it looks like Trauma may have snuck in a secret weapon to snap Robbie out of being Penance...

Nova Prime Richard Ryder and the remaining Nova Corpsmen have to deal with an assualt by Mindless Ones and a reawakened and pissed of Ego the Living Planet...

Thanks to some "help" from Kang the Conquerer the scattered members of the Guardians of the Galaxy are reunited. Just in time to face off against the reborn Magus...

And lastly an oversized 25th issue of Dynamo5. The super-siblings, having just been stripped of their powers by their sister Synergy and Maddie's son Gideon, are re-powered in an unexpected manner. Which leads to some changes in costuming and code names...

Today:

A leak under the dishwasher turned out to be from a leaking pipe. In the attic. Which had been dripping down into the wall. Which now has mold. Which may be under the closet floorboards in the room I'm sitting in right now.

But the partial flat in my tire was from a nail which got fixed for less than $20.

But I bought regular Code Red instead of a 12-pack of Diet Code Red.

I'm calling this week as a loss. New week starts..NOW!

No new comics today, I'll probably go into the shop Thursday or Friday instead. Tired still from having to cover the desk for an extra hour and a half. A-shift relief had some kind of emergency. Still the couple extra bucks on my pay check will be helpful...

Car died on the way to work and I had to get it jumped. So hopefully it will start tomorrow morning and I get to buy a new battery. With money I don't actually have. Wheeee...

I need a 2nd job. So I don't have to get a roommate. So I don't have to wear pants at home. Pants are stupid. Stupid stupid pants...

Hate job hunting. Hate being poor. Hate not being able to pay my parents rent on my house. Hate hate hate...

Gods' dammit, I don't have the money to get into a new author right now. Hell, I'm already having to try and balance comics vs. groceries...

No Money For New a Dozen New Books!

Though..maybe..I could do a culling and hit Bookman's? Maybe get enough trade credit especially if I can find paperback editions?

Need.
More.
Money.
lurkerwithout: (Huh)
I'm using Twitter right now to follow less than a dozen people. Over a third of whom are fictional. But I keep wondering. Where exactly is the money supposed to be? Are their ads I don't see because of my ad-blockers? Otherwise I can understand its popularity of use, but not to investors. Where is the revenue on this thing?

I misread my final SRP statement. The amount I thought was the refund was the final charges and the part I thought was the final charges was the refund. So I got back $50 more than I was expecting...

Managed to sleep straight thru for eightish hours. Which was good since I didn't really manage to crash out until 11. Got the new bill from COX, which I'll have to call them over. They're still charging me for television. Which I cancelled. Stupid cable company...

The Move is DONE. Apartment is cleaned. Last of the money is paid. Keys are turned over. Won't know for awhile if we get any of our damage deposit back, but whatever. No more driving to Mesa. No more of that stupid fucking intersection at Gilbert and University that is under construction until November. Of course until I find a new roommate money will likely be a little tighter. But that is part of why I cut cable tv. Sixty-five bucks a month I'll save there. And with just me my food and electric bills should be lower...

The "new" Accord started overheating on the drive over to work. And by started I mean it was pegged at over the temp gauge's red line when I noticed it. I'm hoping I got it pulled over and off before anything else broke from that. Radiator seemed ok, had oil. Step-father thinks it may be the water pump. So to the mechanic it will go in the morning. Anyone know how much a water pump normally runs?

1) Darth Chewbacca, the Sith Strangler must face Sugar-Coated Macaque Putin

2) The preferred minor super-power would be the ability to speak both turtle AND tortoise

3) I shouldn't eat succulent babies. Which is totally unfair as they're SUCCULENT. Those are the BEST ones!

4) Popeye's financial plan is seen as the best for the nation

5) KRACKADOOOOOM!

6) The perfect gift for a loved one is to destroy their enemies

7) Results for who killed Mr. Body are inconclusive

8) Over a 1/4 of you don't want me to have a monkey butler. This makes me sad. And angry. And determined. MONKEY BUTLER YOU WILL BE MINE!

9) Its a toss up as to which would be scariest to find in your closet, bees or big spiders

10) Mork as the best roommate? Really? Williams during his coke years?

Well it looks like the step-father has found me a replacement car. A 90-something Honda Accord with 100K on it for only 2300. So right now I just owe my family 3 grand. So thats..well not good. But better than being without transportation and stuck in Mesa for an extra three months. Still could use a new roommate, though I can afford (just barely) to live on my own...

Went to the apartment complex office to turn in the rent (because they're being more strict about the turn it all in together thing). And started to officially give notice of our plan to move out at the end of April. Except, it turns out, our complex has a $1017 termination fine. PLUS we'd have to pay back the $407 rent rebate incentive from when we renewed. Our lease ends August 31st. Moving out 4 months early would cost $1424. My family is willing to rent the new place to me and the room-mate at $500 a month, saving us $370 a month. Or $1480. So for the first four month's we'd have a net gain of fifty-six dollars. Provided we can get the over SEVEN HUNDRED each to pay the fines...

Yeah gonna have to see what can be done on that...
