Taxes done.  Expecting just over 1200 even with the filing fees for TurboTax and donating about 1/2 my State to domestic abuse shetlers.  Which I think is new.  I don't remember a bunch of charitable refund donation options when I filed last year.

While checking to make sure my actual bank balance is similar to what I think it is I see that I got my AZ tax return.  Which is especially nice since I thought it had come bundled in with my federal refund last month.  Woo unplanned moneys!

Taxes all filed. Getting back about the same as last year. Though I somehow paid less for a 2-year car registration then I did for a 1-year one in '10. Weird...

Mmmm. Sweet, sweet returned tax monies. Now I can pay to have people stick my cat with needles and to make sure my car will continue to be able to stop on demand...

Finished up e-filing my tax return with TurboTax. And after deducting their fees, I should be getting around $700 from state and federal. Probably make some payments on the credit cards...

Because I had the fees for filing deducted by TurboTax from the total amount I was getting refunded, I won't get a direct deposit on the Stimulus Rebate. Instead they'll mail me a paper check. In June.

From here. This is the important bit for me (and possibly some of you):

A. Taxpayers who use Refund Anticipation Loans (RALs) or enter into any other loans or financial agreements with a tax professional, such as agreeing to have return preparation fees deducted from their refunds, cannot receive their stimulus payments by direct deposit and instead will get paper checks based on the paper check distribution schedule.

And this year the gubmint gives me back money. Not a hella lot, but after TurboTax takes their fees about 400 bucks in refunds and a likely 600 from that rebate thingy later. I might be able to afford things! New tires for the other side of my car! An oil change! All those comics I pre-ordered from Amazon!

According to TurboTax I owe over $500 in Federal taxes. THIS IS NOT FUCKING POSSIBLE. I increased my withholding amount this last year, had student loan interest payments, MEDICAL FUCKING EXPENSES and a few other deductable items. ALL MORE THAN I DID FOR 2005. A year I GOT A FUCKING REFUND THAT GOT ATE BY THE FUCKING STUDENT LOAN I THEN GOT PAID OFF! This is not fucking right. And the only goddamned thing I can spot that might be causing this is that when they were splitting my pay checks between the two hotels THEY WERE WITHOLDING THE WRONG AMOUNT FROM ONE. I am NOT FUCKING HAPPY...

The government gave my money to the student loan people. Stupid immune to bancruptcy student loan. I wanted that money. It was destined for my new computer fund. Stupid government...

Cost to e-file Federal: 9.95
Federal refund: 139.00

Cost to e-file State: 29.95
State owed 12.00

I get money back? Wow...

Also I like TurboTax better than the other programs I've tried to use. Very easy to navigate...

Well the state income or sales tax deduction didn't help unfortunately. So I still had to pay both federal and state taxes. And "I" of course refers to me borrowing 150 bucks from my mom. I feel like such a useless deadbeat right now. Must find new job.

Once again I check on efiling my taxes. I started it at the end of last month, but after coming up with a final result where I owed money, I decided to put it off while I looked and tried to find some more deductions...

And I found that I have the student loan intrest payment from when they seized LAST YEARS refund. So I add that in. And I still owe 75 dollars.

I made LESS THAN 12 GRAND last year! Fucking bastards!
