S_D vs. Peter David
Mar. 1st, 2009 07:57 amCanadian pop culture blogger Christopher Bird aka Mightygodking comments on the whole thing in a way that is: intelligent, sane and only mildly resorts to calling people stupid. Yeah I'm surprised that can happen on the internet also...
What the hell?
Feb. 27th, 2009 09:13 pmI go back to sleep and
scans_daily gets suspended? What did you people do?!?
ETA: Well, according to
kali921 and
box_in_the_box and others, Peter David threw a bitch fit to Marvel over learning about scans of his latest issue of X-Factor. And so LJ abuse took it down for copyright violation. I'd say I'll never buy David's books again, but I haven't bought anything of his since Young Justice and his 90s X-Factor anyway...
Still this sucks. About half my decisions on picking up a new book came after seeing something cool on
scans_daily. Blue Beetle, Avengers: The Initiative, my hardback trades for Runaways and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane. Maybe David and others can go after Sims and other comics bloggers who review comics to take down the people who influence that other half...
scans_daily had a lot of whiny bullshit on it, just like any internet community. But I've found several friends and cool journals thru it in addition to new comics. I've enjoyed seeing the occasional creator get involved in the discussion of a comic. From Gail Simone to Dan Slott to Warren Ellis to McKelvie and Gillen...
I understand there is a version of the community on InsaneJournal. So congrats LJ, you've encouraged me to find one MORE reason to use my IJ more often...

Thats probably not a good sign
Jan. 6th, 2009 04:59 amLJ fires 20 of 28 employees. I may end up using my InsaneJournal more heavily after all...
Fucking humans
May. 30th, 2008 01:52 pmI hate humanity at times.

Thats a whole lot of crazy there
May. 28th, 2008 02:42 amFrom a blog post about urban growth, warming trays at cocktail parties and using gay sex to solve all problems with Iran. Scroll down to the comments. I was going to cut & paste it here, but apparantly even cut in HALF the thing is too large for LJ. Amazing Blogger's COMMENTS allow for greater length than LJ does for a regular post...
Symbolic Gestures
Mar. 20th, 2008 09:29 pmSee you all on Saturday. Yes I'm participating in the "strike". No I don't think it will actually change anything or even really make SUP or whoever think about their policy decisions. But it means something to me to say that I'm unhappy with the way they're running their business. No grand message. No dramatics. Simply a day away from posting. The first in..a while...
This, how you say, not the look so good
Mar. 19th, 2008 03:35 amAn interview with SUP's blog/LJ/etc division head. And since thats all in Cyrillic, here's an IJ post that has a translation. For the record I've just created a new IJ account for myself (same name) and I'll probably buy a Perm Account before the end of the month after I get my tax refund. Mostly because they're supposed to be real cheap until the end of March...
But I'm not planning on jumping ship yet. I just want to be set up in case I do...
