Weekly comics
Nov. 23rd, 2011 06:25 pmAs may have been noticed, there was no New Comics Day post last week. Which was due to not getting to the store because of a work thing. And it was a fairly heavy pull that week. As is this week. Like over a dozen titles between the two to go over. So between the size of this stack, the cold I've picked up, tomorrow's holiday and some continuing annoyance from a traffic ticket it will probably be a few days before I get a chance to talk about them...

Aug. 10th, 2010 01:50 pmI managed to do..something..to my back yesterday. Which I aggravated badly with my strenuous job of sitting, getting up to answer the phone and light lifting of coffee urns. And since walking from the bed to the kitchen for more Tylenol is still an comedic patch of mild agony I think I'll be taking tonight off...
1) The most popular New Year's resolution was to: Crush those who wronged me beneath my iron boot-heels.
2) The fightingest POTUS and expected champion of the Rumble in the Oval would be Teddy "The Bear" Roosevelt.
3) Say "nevermore" once more. Just once more...

4) The Next Big Thing: Either Cryptids in grade school or Vampire High School Musicals.
5) Not surprisingly Alfred is still the #1 choice in buterlin'.
6) The most popular choice in radioactive animal-bite themed character is Dr. Hedgehog. Do hedgehog's even have teeth?
7) If choosing a job based on television shows, the most popular choice is a maverick wise-cracking police consultant.
8) So its either The Secret Six/Scrooge McDuck or The Authority/Sonic the Hedgehog? Fuckin' furries...
9) Also, Sesame Street gets invaded by zombies? What is wrong with some of you? Don't answer that!
10) But in an affirmation of taste the majority wants to see Edward Cullen beaten down by groups of other vampires from fiction...

Weekend Job
Oct. 23rd, 2009 09:41 pmI'm remembering again why I never do anything on the weekends when I'm working at the Scottsdale job. Its not just the 11-7 shifts on T/F/S. Its that I'm awake for a couple hours in the morning when I get home. Wake up for a few hours in the afternoon and then pretty much fall back asleep until its time to get ready for work...
I had intended to get up at 7pm so I could at least stop by a surprise party for the friend who owns my comics shop, but I just could not get the energy to get back up again until 9:30...

Friday Boardgames 10/09/09
Oct. 10th, 2009 02:45 amSo the Scottsdale hotel asked me back to the same shifts as before. So this will likely be the last free weekend for a while. Got to play two of my games that I'd been wanting to try again, Betrayal at the House on the Hill (which we won, even if I was a frog) and Vegas Showdown (which the ex-roommate surged ahead at the end to beat me at). Also got to play the updated version of Formula De, Formula D (which I lost very, very badly). And while I lost at Acquire I did much better than I normally do at that kind of game...
