Had various friends over yesterday from the early afternoon on for some boardgaming.  Started with Lord of the Fries with the coffee house expansion deck from the Kickstarter.  It took a couple rounds to realize that several items in the combined decks weren't listed for any order for the Ren-Faire menu.  In the end Casey won, beating out Marcus by 2 points...

Then it was Sentinels of the Multiverse, with our team of Not Batman, Not Superman, Not Thor, Not Flash and my Cold/Fire manipulator managed to take down the Egyption God villain team.  We follwed that with Codename an espionage-themed two team competitive/co-op game.  After a rocky first game loss, my team with Brendan and Bryon managed to win the next two games...

After that was a seven-person game of Smarty Party, where I managed to gain the win after some early unfortunate high scoring.  And we finished up the night with a six-player Betrayal at House on the Hilll.  There unfortunate room placement meant that Haunt #13, the Waking Nightmare managed to simply overwhelm the investigators and escape to victory...

Spent Saturday night having a board game night to take advantage of the birthday vacation time.  Started off with some Champions of the Multivers where our team of not-Superman, not-Thor, not-Hulk, not-Aqualad and not-Dr. Strange defeated not-Darkseid on the Mars Base.  Which was no easy task.  Then a game of Smarty Party that I managed to win.  And finished the night with a six-person game of Shadows Over Camelot.  Sadly, there all was lost to the traitourous King Arthur who managed to swarm the field with catapults...

Spent the evening at a birthday party for the once-and-future-roommate. We were going to do a night of various board and card games, but ended up getting sucked into the Order of the Stick game. Managed to take five hours to defeat Xykon and get out of the dungeon. Fun , though I'm a little bit disappointed in not getting a chance to introduce some new people to Ra, Bang or Smarty Party...

My friend [profile] spoonyone has started an auto-bio blog about his gaming history called Counter Monkey. Definitely worth a look in my less than humble opinion...

Not going out to Friday Board Game Night. Mostly because I needed sleep. But also because Noah's starting up that Thieves' World campaign on Sunday. And I just don't want to drive out to Gamer's Inn more than once a week-end. So I'll miss regularly losing at most games (no really I will), my S'danzo Merc is pretty freaking cool and I'm looking forward to playing him. Even in a d20 based campaign setting...

Still Green Ronin (I think thats who does the new TW stuff) has added some interesting twists to the system. Dropped alignment, added a reputation stat and a few other things...

So with the new schedule I'm just not feeling up to going out for the Friday Board Game Night. Maybe next week...

Yesterday's online HM game got started late again. This time Dan was GM and he was delayed by a couple hours after his radiator gave out on him on the way home from work. And then things got bogged down with a magic combo lock with a riddle clue to beating it. So my half-ogre, with his whopping FIVE Intelligence, basically sat to the side while the others tried to work it out. Still he's somehow managed to nickle and dime his way up to 3rd level. Next week is Leif's turn again, so hopefully I'll be able to get Joe the Fighter killed off so I can try and roll up a DECENT character. Though given my luck with dice, that is unlikely...

Just killing time for the next several hours. Later I'm going to run HackMaster for my Sunday game group. Of course, we're going to check out a store on Southern & Gilbert as a new place to game. Which is far. Still, finding a place where we can at least TRY to hold a weekly game will be nice. Plus I always like checking out new game stores...

Watched the last bit of Jimmy Hollywood earlier. And despite it being dull and fairly silly, it still was better written and scripted than the last Matrix flick, which I tried to watch again last night. Man that franchise sucked...

I should find out to do those seperator thingies that [personal profile] the_paco

Hit 1/2Price Books Thursday and ended up spending WAAAAY to much money. Still got a mess of 2e Vampire clan books, the Snoop/Faceman book for Spycraft and a couple books. Plus my Amazon order came in that day. Some Transmet trades, a couple of books and a Hong Kong gun fu flick; Time & Tide . Decent movie, even if the plot is kind of goofy and the ending is a little weak...
