A Descent into Dullness

The movie mostly moves around the edges of post D-Day in the European theater. With Clooney leading a mostly over-the-hill squad trying to recover artworks stolen by the Germans. It does meander and mosey along, and despite its setting is hard to qualify as a "war" movie. But I enjoyed it, though it is unlikely to be on anyone top (or worst) list at any point...

A cute (where the given value of cute is based on your tolerance/enjoyment of nekkid' William H. Macy) heist picture. Macy, Morgan Freeman and Christopher Walken are museum security guards. Who, when they learn about plans to sell large portions of the museum's collection to a museum in Copenhagen, plan and carry out the theft of their three favorite pieces...

A light, fun caper flick with enjoyably amusing work from the three leads. Also from Marcia Gay Harden who plays Walken's long suffering wife...

I swear every documentary I've watched lately needs to cut half an hour or more. Did I really need to know about Frazetta's camera collection or his regrets at not being a pro-baseball player? Still, it was nice to learn about his work doing funny animal books in the 50s. I'd love to track down some of that. Or that he did ghost art duties for Al Capp on Lil' Abner for several years...
