Director Sidney Lumet tells a story about brothers Hank (Ethan Hawk) and Andrew (Phillip Seymour Hoffman). The pair are both suffering from money problems. Hank is struggling to pay for child support and his daughter's private school. Andrew needs to deal with an audit coming up that will reveal his embezzlement. So they decide to rob a small jewelery store in the suburbs. The one owned by their parents. No one should get hurt and everything is insured. Its practically a victim-less crime. And of course EVERYTHING goes wrong...

Hoffman and Hawke are both at their normal levels, as is Albert Finney who plays their father. Plus Marisa Tomei, playing Andrew's wife who is having an affair with Hank, spends a lot of time topless. Wasn't really expecting that from her...
