How to get people to read your comic

I was flipping thru various old comics blog posts and I somehow kept stumbling across variations on "How to Get More of X Readers". Where X is women or teens or kids or gay penguins or whatever. And there are various answers always posted. Mostly boiling down to, write better stuff and the readers will follow kind of thing...

They're all wrong of course. The best way to get more readers is to put a $50 bill in every issue of your comic. I guarentee your sales figures across ALL demographics will go thru the roof. Except for the gay penguin one. You need to put sardines in for them. Though since they only read martial arts comics translated into French it doesn't much matter. No one knows why this is true. But it is. You can look it up. Trust me...

What. The. FUCK!

According to TurboTax I owe over $500 in Federal taxes. THIS IS NOT FUCKING POSSIBLE. I increased my withholding amount this last year, had student loan interest payments, MEDICAL FUCKING EXPENSES and a few other deductable items. ALL MORE THAN I DID FOR 2005. A year I GOT A FUCKING REFUND THAT GOT ATE BY THE FUCKING STUDENT LOAN I THEN GOT PAID OFF! This is not fucking right. And the only goddamned thing I can spot that might be causing this is that when they were splitting my pay checks between the two hotels THEY WERE WITHOLDING THE WRONG AMOUNT FROM ONE. I am NOT FUCKING HAPPY...

Mean Streets

This movie just meanders all over the place. I think the plot is that Harvey Keitel shouldn't be friends with deadbeat loser DeNiro. But mostly is just Keitel and DeNiro spending almost 2 hours wandering around talking to people and occasionally getting in clumsy looking in fights. Theres some good moments in all this, but as a movie it just doesn't actually seem to be going anywhere untill near the last twenty minutes. And the characters aren't interesting enough to really carry the movie without a cohesive plot...
