Ok, so the set-up is that I've somehow managed to replace both Didio and Quesada with robot duplicates. Meaning I'm EIC of both the Big Two. Which means I get to give jobs to some of my friends. But not all of you. Because I'm just mean. Hah! I will be a petty and whimsical tyrant!

Anyway who does what.

At Marvel:
Alexlucard gets to write Hawkeye because he'll use his vampire powers on me otherwise...
indigoskynet can have Storm just for the look of glee on her face...
spoonyone will have the enjoyable job of redeeming Iron Man because it amuses me to give him a hard job...
shaenon will be writing A.I.M. Research Unit 414-B because I loved the A.I.M. office party, even if it does kind of type cast her as the MadScience writer...
the_outlaw will be writing Pulps, stories set in the 1930s Marvel 'verse...
takhsis gets Starjammers and the joy of pirates. In space...
And kidzero can write Rick Jones: Rock Star about Rick somehow becoming platinum selling rocker...

And over at DC:
createdv8tion gets to write Paroled about ex-super villian the Red Dart, trying to stay straight. Which, is I will admit, just Hench set in the DC 'verse...
dead_kid_fred/nedslade will be doing Dead Man and using it to bring DC's horror books back into the fold...
frustratedpilot gets Blackhawk Missions mostly because there really isn't a lot more to do with Enemy Ace stories...
kalinara and morchades will be co-writing both Green Lantern Corps and Green Lantern. Even if that means that 50% of the art will be GL butt shots...
looking2dastars gets to work with the mess that is Green Arrow...
dunkleza will be on the Wild Dog relaunch. Because Lib + Gun Toting Vigilante = Duh...
demiurgent will be on Future Tales a companion title to mightygodking's LSH...

Spent the evening playing Scrabble and Chez Geek, discussing (ie ranting) about DC and Marvel comics and exchanging gits with some friends. From 3 friends I got 3 movies. Only 1 of which duplicates one I've already got the dvd for. Not a bad ratio...

Me gots: Young Frankenstein, Payback and O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Noah gots: Cerebus volume 1 and King of Comedy dvd
Miles gots: Bone Complete Edition and DMZ vol 1
Brendan gots: T-shirts from threadless and Turtledove's "Lost Legion" series, Young Frankenstein and The Big Red One

It was an enjoyable night, despite Miles crushing everyone at Scrabble after jumping way in the lead with the 86 point "rebounders"...

Hanging out at my friend Kevin's new place. There is supposed to be a going-away party for Brendan later, so I'm hoping to stick around for that for a little while before heading back to get ready for work...

Also grabbed the Weapon of the Gods rpg when I dropped by Gamer's Inn last night. If there's a game that's almost guarenteed I won't ever find a group for, thats the one I'll pick up...

Well I was waiting around to A. Hear back from a friend who needed a ride from the airport and B. To see if another friend wanted to go see Kong.

But friend A. got a ride from someone else. And friend B. is working extra hours so that he can take time off next week for a vacation he cancelled. Plus he's still attempting to work out his relationship with his girlfriend. So no movie.

Now I'm just trying to think of something to do tonight other than sit here on the computer...

So after I had to go to a lab and give a blood sample for a thyroid test. And I realize that the lab is pretty much right next door to my friend Kevin's apartment. So I'll go wake him up and make him go to lunch with me. But first I hit the used book store near him I kept meaning to check out. Nice place, called 1/2Price Books. Got the new Stephanie Plum hc book at the cost of a pb. And a Lawerence Watt-Evans Esthar book off their clearance racks for a dollar. And the 2nd edition Nosferatu clan book. 'Cause Nos are my favorite...

So now its almost noon, so I go wake Kev up. We hang out for a bit, while he plays some Halo 2 online, then we head out to way west Phoenix so he can drop off his ex-girlfriends X-box. Then we hit the Sizzler. Where I eat too much breaded shrimp for my current diet. *shrug*

Then back for more Halo. Then we go pick up his current girlfriend, grab Disney Trivial Pursuit and play that at Denny's. Which I sucked at. Half becuase I haven't seen half these movies in almost 2 decades and half because of my normal luck with dice...

All in all, a good day.

Spent most of the day and night hanging out at Samurai comics with ferris_dabler  and nedslade and bluemoonfly  amongst others.  Mostly just reading comics and talking with people.  Though we did get in a 5 person game of Munchkin for the last several hours.  Went very well with everybody at level 9 and trying for desperately for 10 and victory.  Blue ended up with the victory, even though it was her first game.  Both she and Randall caught on quick and did very well, especially at the screw your friends cut-throat bits...

Then I came home to the wrapping up of mom and Mike's New Years party.  Grabbed a Fat Tire and handfuls of party food and was happy.  And now I'm online and feeling nice...
