Richard Sharpe is caught up in a game of spy and counterspy with a beautiful young nun caught in the middle. Can the legendary British sol...wait...is that Mark Antony? Holy crap! It is James Purefoy. And Sir Henry Simonson again? That slimy little weasel!

Although my fondest memories are of the earlier films (2-5 particularly, IIRC), I thoroughly enjoyed all 14 films. I have mixed feelings about #15, though. The series had a good end (with Paul Bettany!) and bringing some of the characters back and sending them to India just felt like a press to make more money off the franchise.

Still, they sell the first 14 videos as a boxed set that I want to get some time.

Theres a version of the boxed set that comes in what looks like an ammo crate. I've always wanted that...

I don't know about how the BBC series ended. I do know that the more recent books in the series have been prequels about Sharpe's earlier service in India. Plus more Obidiah Hakeswell. I ran a Malkavian based off of Obidiah in an Elder LARP...

Nope, it's definitely not a prequel. Avoiding spoiler information, he goes off and meets other recurring characters as he deals with an ex-British officer using a local maharajah to attack the Brits and Sharpe has to save the day. It was extremely formulaic and felt forced. But Sean Bean kicks ass so I enjoyed it anyway. :)
