In tonights game I;

1. Talked to a soldier in a bar and learned some rumors.
2. Got convinced to rejoin the rest of the group outside the Keep.
3. Went back to the Keep to try and find a guide.

So I was in a tavern, flew to Camp, then flew back to a different tavern. That took 3 hours of real time. Three. Hours.

Nah, I've had online only games that ran just fine. Hell, some of my friends play using IRC type programs almost entirely.

But in this case our group (with EIGHT players and multiple NPC hangers-on) has no real leader and the GM isn't actually trying to guide us on a coherant story. We're basically being left alone to 'explore'.

Online games can move quite briskly when motivated properly. I've run online games for years and you can really get to truckin' if everyone's on the ball and trying to keep the game moving. It only takes one slacker to kill the pace of the game, though.

Although I do feel Lurker's pain, though. Tent pegs, dude. Tent pegs.
