Some of you people are attempting to out wangst me. Stop that! All of you stop having more wretched jobs or worse personal lives or greater emotional problems than me! I mean it! There is only a limited amount of pity for whining out there and you people are sucking up mine. Now get happy! I mean it! *shakes fist*

Don't make me eat Oreos until my feet fall off! I'm just enough of an attention whore to do it!

2. Rips off Lord of the Rings

3. Rips off Star Wars

4. Orcs and orc stand-ins existing just to get chopped up by even the weakest group member

5. Lurid, perverted sex acts involving girl-centaurs

DMZ: On The Ground written by Brian Wood, Art by Wood & Riccardo Burchielli, Colors by Jeromy COx, Letters Jared K. Fletcher

Yes, its ANOTHER Brian Wood book. Don't worry folks, I'm almost out of stuff he's done. Created by Wood & Burchielli, DMZ is near-future story set in the world of the 2nd Civil War. New York City has become the most volatile of borders between the United States and the "Free States". Its a bombed out wreck, cut off from the rest of the world. Mostly. But its still home to more than a few people. Renegades and deserters and infiltrators and those too stubborn or too unlucky to evacuate. And into all this comes crusading, Pulitzer winning reporter Viktor Ferguson. And his unpaid photo tech Matthew Roth. Of course Ferguson gets his fool head shot off in the first five minutes of landing. Along with everyone else in his escort group. Except Matty...

And so Matty becomes the lone voice reporting from the ruins of New York. Willing to talk to the gangs, the survivors, the artists, the weird whatever's living in the park, the military of both sides. Whoever...

Wood's pretty amazing in that he pretty well BLOWS UP his favorite place in the world and then still makes an on-going series thats another love letter to it. Its crazy and violent and dark and beautiful. So you know, not much has changed...
