Tuesday Tangents
Mar. 18th, 2008 03:36 pmAs some of you may remember a couple weeks back Willow, I and several others started doing ideas for a Marvel Tangents. So I figure I'll try to keep doing this. Not just with Marvel, but for various comics. Two ideas for this week.
The first is still Marvel. The Spider: Man Without Fear. Peter Po Parker is 2nd Generation American Chinese and a high-wire acrobat for the Lee & Ditko Brothers Circus. All he wants is to entertain people and challenge himself with his often dangerous act. And maybe making up his mind about the romantic triangle he's in with bare back rider Gwen and lion-tamer's assistant Mary Jane. But when you're family tree is filled with crazed Geomancers, international spies and Mystic Kung-Fu warriors its hard to be "normal". Especially when your family and their enemies keep interfering...
Second up is Youngblood. In the year 2080 the world of music has become ever more violently competitive. Last year, John "Shaft" Singleton led his band to victory at the Interplanetary Battle of the Bands with his joint mastery of archery and mad rhymes. But can he and bandmates Antonia "Vogue" Bird (knives and lead guitar), Chris "Badrock" Gans (percussion and Savate) and John "Diehard" McTiernan (ex-cage fighter and saxophone) repeat for a second year? Especially with arch-rivals and Martian native sons Brigade out to bring them down and take their place?
