Since John M. Ford's death last year I've been looking for a copy of this book. I mean its pretty rare to see a Star Trek franchise book be praised this universally. Even rarer considering the same praise was heaped on Ford's other ST book, The Final Reflection. And the book (both really) fit well into whats known about the ST 'verse at the time. One is how willingly everyone (both the Enterprise senior officers and their Klingon counterparts) is to just go along with events right up to the final denouement. Also the two mischevious kids felt fairly extroneous to the plot. But other than that it makes for an interesting read...
