So my old computer was suffering both BSOD and boot errors. So rather than spend a couple hundred dollars fixing it, I spent a few hundred more dollars replacing it. Which means I've got to spend a lot of my vacation reinstalling stuff like firefox and open office and my popcap games and what not. And I've lost all my porn. :(

On the other hand, old computer:

AMD athlon 64
3700+ processor
2.2 GHz/2000 MHZ/1 MD LZ cache
512 MB DDR SD RAM/ Dual channel capable
200 GB Hard drive
nVidia Geoforce G100 GPU w/ PCI express slot
9 in 1 memory card reader
DVD +/- RW Multiformat double later
10/100 Mbps Ethernet LAN
56K ITU v.02 ready fax/modem

New computer:
Windows 7
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 processor
4 GB DDR2
Integrated Intel GMA X4500 Graphics
750 GB Hard drive
DVD +/- RW SuperMulti
all kinds of ports and stuff

I don't know what a lot of that means but I'm guessing many of my low virtual memory and slow-down problems will be gone...

Now to get to redownloading my pornmusic...

Yeah, you're looking at, roughly, 2 orders of magnitude increase in many applications.

The Windows 7 screen layouts are taking some getting used to...

They can be set to XP-ish.

To the point where I forget I'm not using XP for weeks at a time.

The main thing I suggest is re-enabling the Quicklaunch bar.

Flash drives are invaluable for transferring your porn. External hard drives provide an alternative for file saving too.
