Telling Windows users there's a configuration file they can edit is a documentation error.

Windows users should never be encouraged to fuck with anything. Failing to provide a wizard to automatically detect the configuration information the software needs, or at the very least prompt them for the information using small words and pretty pictures is a programming error.


I suddenly had this image of Gandalf standing in front of my computer, shouting out "You! Shall! Not! Install!". I'm guessing that wizard in this case actually referes to some kind of automated program like the maintenance wizard...
