... as it should be. Seriously: In Japanese myth/legends, Ninjas are supposed to have magical powers.

But I do agree -- walking into Mortor with an army of ninja wizards (and bears that shoot laser beams from their eyes) would be SO FRICKIN COOL!

Actually in 1st Edition you could do ninja with a wu-jen kicker as well...

My idea of "1st Edition D&D" was the three little booklets that came in a white box... and there were only three classes in those days: Fighter, Magic-User and Cleric. (The "Thief" class didn't come into existance until the GREYHAWK supplement.)
