New Comics Day

And the much delayed New Comics Day finally arrives. I return after twice braving Phoenix traffic during heavy rain. For those unfamiliar with that its pretty easy to sum up. When driving in heavy rain in Phoenix, every other driver on the road? Fucking morons. EVERY. ONE. You can have this confirmed when driving on surface roads by the emergency services vehicles that pass you every five minutes on their way to a new accident...
But all that I defeat in order to get zee comics. And all for you. FOR YOU!!!
...
Ahem. Ok. First up we've got a new Cassanova. Where, if I'm right about the planned final swerve with Zephyr Quinn, makes me wonder. Will it make her seduction of legendary thief and spy Suki Boutique more or less awesome? I'm gonna say more...
After that its the start of a new arc for FEAR Agent. With Heath and his ex-wife's new man going on a food run. With the ex and the ex-girlfriend (and secret traitor) heading on a mission to find a way to recover Earth...
Then its a filler issue of Blue Beetle with Jamie having to deal with the new Spectre. Kinda meh. Everyone but Paco feels off, for which I can only blame the fill-in writer and artist...
We follow up with a new X-Men: First Class. The Colleen Coover short is adorable and awesome, having Marvel Girl and Scarlet Witch team-up to catch museum thieves and then having to deal with Mole Man. But the main story? I think my issue was laid out wrong. It starts with every one in the mansion waking up with no mutations. Then jumps to Prof X using his telepathy as part of a deep space probe for NASA or somebody. Then it cuts to Coover's back-up. THEN jumps back to the mansion where Sentinels are attacking the de-powered X-Men. I think it was supposed to be the space probe, THEN the no-powers wake-up, THEN the Sentinel attack and ENDING with the back-up. I think...
After that its a new Savage Dragon guest-starring Bomb Queen. From the ridiculously stupid and exploitive Bomb Queen. Where its nice to see that her get easily beaten by Dragon, who then lets her keep her town. For no damn reason I can think of, except that Larsen is being nice to Robinson...
And then its a new Jack of Fables featuring the resurrection of Colchester "Humpty Dumpty" Eggman. Who explains to Jack, Raven and Gary how they're heading to the Americana Fablelands to loot Cibola, the Lost City of Gold. Hell. Yeah. And more cute delusions from Babe the Tiny Blue Ox...
Next is a new issue of Transformers: Devastation with new versions of the Headmasters. Though I'm fairly certain I missed an issue here...
And we finish up with the latest Knights of the Dinner Table. The UT+1 continue to explore the Temple of Horendous Doom. And Pete and Earl taking a look at the latest news from Hard 8. Warnings about Player Advantage Codes and new product ads. Including a reprint of the Player Coupon Book. Something leaving Pete and Earl less than thrilled with Hard 8. Plus another of Pete's game test adventures. This time adding Newt into the mix instead of Bob. And of course the Gamer's Rant on Movies. This time taking a look at that Muppet 80s classic, Labyrinth...
