Back from our first session. Shockingly Autumn did not make it (though her excuse of a family emergancy was a good one). But most of the night was spent getting characters done, always a lengthy task for the start-up, especially with only 1 rule book per 2 players. I decided to create a young human noble, highly skilled at combat but overly proud. To make him work in the group I also have him being bound by family oath AND fealty sworn to
spoonyone's elf noble of the House of Feonor (sp?).
kafeixuesheng is going with his dwarven mastersmith/enchanter concept. And the woman I hadn't met before (Jessica I think) has some kind of greenwood elf healer type...
We did establish where the campaign is starting and rumors of possible orcs behind our lines at the siege of Angbad. Next week things should begin to move forward...
The general purpose Josh seems to be going for is that as PLAYERS we know that we're all kind of screwed and doomed as its near the end of the 1st Age. But our CHARACTERS should still be motivated to try and prevent this partial fall into darkness. So our motivation is to gain as much Renown as possible, to become heroes known in later ages...
