I have been known, on occassion, to meander around while telling a story. Wandering off onto various tangents. And I tease creativedv8tion about his rambling voice posts. And the_paco often skips merrily along Non Sequiter way in the Town of WTF. And of course demiurgent has been known to take the long way round when writing for Websnark...

But there is one True King of The Rambling Story. And his name is Mick Foley...

You only say that because you've never had a face-to-face convo with me. Especially while I'm drinking.

Swear to Joe Pesci, I once started telling a story while drunk (to a very patient, understanding, and AMUSED audience) and after three hours, not only had I not reached the end of the story, I don't think I'd reached the half-way mark. And I say "I don't think" because it was at about that time that I realized I had NO idea what story I had started. And neither did anyone else.

I really enjoyed his first memior, Have a Nice Day. I haven't read his novels. His picture books illustrated by Jill Thompson are cute.
