The first half of the final book adaptation works much better than the previous one. And on several levels better than the final book. Harry and Ron both come off as a lot less inept and douchebaggery. The Death Eaters takeover of the Wizarding World and their pursuit of the heroes feels scary and oppresive. Helena Bonham Carter continues to be a creepy delight as the scenery chewing Lil' Miss Psychopath. And the intolerable camping sequence and bumbling about learning Dumbledore's backstory is still a bit too long. But much less so then in the book...
