A merry Winter-mas Season birthday to userinfofrustratedpilot!

This week sees the arrival of issue number one hundred of Fables. With the central story being the duel between primal boogeyman Mr. Dark and eldest witch Frau Totenkinder. Plus the birth of Beauty & Beast's child. Suffice it to say those bits end in a way that would have made a perfect cap for the series. Similar to when the Empire was defeated a few years back. But Willingham decides to keep going. And I'm just tired of it all at this point. There is honestly a point when a good story should draw to a close and this book has done that TWICE now. So I'm just going to pretend that this is where the book finishes...

And speaking of stories, a new issue of the Unwritten with Tom wandering into Moby Dick and Savoy admitting to himself and Liz his new condition...

Then back to the capes set with Avengers Academy. The focus this issue moves away from the students to instructor Hank Pym, who changes his name and look (again), going back to the classic Giant-Man...

And more Avengers related super-heroics with Avengers vs. the Pet Avengers. Where the frog-o-fied core Avengers are restored to their human forms. And then the title actually becomes accurate as the Pet Avengers switch to the sides of the dragons. Also I love the bit of the cover image with Aunt May's Ms. Lion biting Thor's ankle...

The Thunderbolts take a pause from the action and we get the origin story of Iron Man foe Ghost. A tale of corporate greed and murder...

And the final issue of Strange Tales II. Stand outs this time include a Silver Surfer story by Orc Stain's James Stokoe, Benjamin Marra presenting a U.S. Agent tale that feels like something John Ringo writes at his worst, Kate Beaton doing both an Rogue and Professor X short and an Avengers at the carnival piece and lastly a mighty Marvel team-up between the Thing and Harvey Pekar written by the late Pekar and drawn by Ty Templeton...

Still more super-heroes though. First a Christmas story from The Tick. With the Tick, Arthur and Man-Eating Cow going on a road trip to deliver presents to the newly born again Baby Santa...

And lastly Darkwing Duck and crew battle the hordes of other-dimensional brain-washed Darkwing clones to get to the villainous team of Negaduck and Magica. Plus the secret of the threat beneath the waters of St. Canard is revealed...
