New Comics Day 10/6/10
Oct. 7th, 2010 04:30 amIts Secret Six Classic vs. Secret Six new flavor. In Skatarsis, the Hollow Earth. Also Gail Simone decides to try and make me like Amanda Waller again by re-introducing Katrina Armstrong aka Spy Smasher aka Every Crazy Stereotype About An American Espionage Agent x2 Lady...
iZombie tells the secret, untold origin of THE WERE-TERRIER! Also rectifies its shocking lack of chimp-based characters...
Dashell and his father come to a kind of start of an understanding in Scalped. While Gina Redcrow and Dino Poor Bear discuss parenting...
Grabbed Fantastic Four in...Ataque Del M.O.D.O.K.! on a whim. Because it has a: monkeys and b: M.O.D.O.K. and I am an easy mark for both. Its the latest from writer Tom Beland essentially about members of the FF in Puerto Rico. In addition to M.O.D.O.K. and his A.I.Monkeys this issue also introduces the PR hero, El Vejigante and some wonderfully sweet moments between Reed and Sue Richards. Moments that really make me believe that the two characters could be together and not just are...
Avengers Academy focuses on Striker this time around. Striker it seems is unique from his fellow Academy members in that didn't so much screw with him as give him anything he could want. And whose mom's back-story really show-cases how much even a supposedly easy-access book like this is still aimed at 30-something or older comics fans like me. I mean a stealth Gary Hart reference? Would anyone in their 20s or younger even get that?
The Young Allies wrap their first story-arc with a big fight against the Bastards and their revealed leader, Superior the pint-size version of it looks like the Leader...
And finally a new Orc Stain. One-Eye gets tossed into some kind of prison/arena/testing beast alongside all the other captured one-eyed orcs. And swamp nymph Bowie and her companion Zazu decide to payback the nearest forces of the Orctzar for wrecking her home when they captured One-Eye...
