New Comics Day 3/17/10
Mar. 17th, 2010 03:27 pmAll I really have to say about this issue of Fables is that David Lapham is not very good at drawing axes. Draws a decent squirrel though...
This month's Nova and Guardians of the Galaxy both feature resurrections. One good and one bad. And by bad I mean galatic threat bad...
Groo: the Hogs of Horder finishes up with the commoners managing to survive an economic recession by going back to a barter economy. And the king of Horder gets a small amount of comeuppance for his terrible leadership skills. Also Groo does foolish things and sinks a boat or two...
And lastly in Angel where the crew of Angel Investigations continues to search out their missing leader. By hunting down and destroying large groups of vamps. Not knowing Illyria has already found him so that she can discuss her plans to mate with Conner with him. Godlings from pre-history are weird like that...

Flogging Molly '10
Mar. 17th, 2010 11:04 pmSore. All. Over.
FM, as in previous years, was awesome. Even if the crowd wasn't as good at the sing (yell) along bits this time around. No new songs, but they opened with several of the songs they previously closed with. And also did a few acoustic numbers...
The warm-up bands, Celtic Cowboys and The Bollocks, were both pretty good. Nothing really outstanding, but enjoyable. Managed to get some decent crowd reactions from the early arrivers. But the opening act. Metric. I'm just baffled as to who picked them. Don't get me wrong, they're a decent enough band. In another setting I might have even enjoyed them in concert. But they so didn't fit this show. Though, bless her, after the first couple songs the leader singer did her best to get the crowd going. But really, wrong style for a St. Patty's FM crowd...
