New Comics Day 1/14
Jan. 15th, 2009 03:37 amYesterday was a very long day. A day I had to deny myself cake. Can even new comics make up for self cake denial? Well a little yes...
Starting with the finale for Manhunter. Andreyko finishes the comic and the jump-forward story with a graduation, a super-villain fight and a continuation of the Manhunter legacy. You know with this cancellation and the up-coming Blue Beetle final issue I'll be down to a single mainline DC book. And honestly what are the odds of Secret Six going even a full year?
But of course I'll still have the secondary lines like Vertigo. And Fables. Where Rose Red inherits one of her sister's old friends as truly dark times approach and the now homeless NYC Fables evacuate to the Farm...
Also coming to an end is Army@Love: The Art of War. At least for volume two. Its very. Um. Quantum. Yeah. Quantum mechanics and fiction states and stuff. And sex of course. Lots and lots of weird sex...
In the DMZ Matty continues to be dissapointed by the deals and moves of new Governor Parco. But he does get the money needed to keep the new New York government afloat...
And Invincible picks up..well it picks up at a confusing point, mostly because the last story ended in a different book. And hey, no one gets exploded. Robot solves Monster Girl's de-aging problem. Immortal and Multi-Kate find a new home. Mark and Eve plan on moving into a new place. Plus various single pages moving other character's forward. Or at least checking in. Man this book has a big cast even with all the deaths...
I Hate Gallant Girl we find that Courtney isn't as dumb as she's been pr..oh man. I didn't even really look at that cover closely until now. Thats really. Sheesh. An upskirt panty shot, hair pulling and impling tribadism. Classy guys. Real classy...
And we finish up with another finale, for I Kill Giants. The "real" story of the Titan revealed. Plus we finally meet Barbara's mom. So its a story about dealing with death at a young age and not a magical adventure thing...
