New Comcis Day 9/24
Sep. 24th, 2008 10:29 pmAnother heavy week. Plus a stack of stuff from Amazon. And I grabbed that Achewood: The Great Outdoor Fight HC. My budget is thankful though that the store was out of the Local HC...
On to the floppies. Starting with Wolverine: First Class. Where, in the first multi-issue story arc, we see that Russians are big, pushy jerks...
Then its *sigh* Secret Invasion time. First in Nova, where Rich goes to help his brother at P.E.G.A.S.U.S. deal with Skrull invaders. And gets some back-up from fellow ex-New Warrior Darkhawk...
And Avengers: The Initiative continues the SI-ness. With Eric O'Grady making an attempt alongside the Initiative black-ops squad to assassinate the Skrull Empress. Plus the resistance forces continue to go state-to-state taking out infiltrators and recruiting.
And so we leave Skrulls behind to get some Jack of Fables AND Fables. The first concentrates mostly on Page sister Priscilla. Though sisters Robin and Hillary also get some face time. And on the main title Pinocchio takes his Dad on a tour of Fabletown. Of course even with Geppetto now being under amnesty, the rest of the Fabletown residents aren't exactly welcoming...
Sturges continues to do well on Blue Beetle adding a guest appearance by Dr. Mid-nite. Plus a reveal of who the villain is behind these border problems. Hint: think magnets...
Then its Ambush Bug: Year None. And no that cover doesn't lie. Ambush gets married to Dumb Bunny of the Inferior Five. Plus it raises an important point. Who was Orion's mom anyways?
ps238 has a family bbq with the Nuclear Family, the relatives of Julie "84" Finster and Suzi Fusion. Also more about what the hell those cherub and imps have been up to...
And a new I Kill Giants (didn't the last issue just come out?) where Barbara has problems keeping friends. Plus she has to spend more time with the school counselor. None of that really goes well...
And finally Proof where Proof goes to see a bird. And Ginger takes a trip to the sewers. But most importantly a tiny monkey fights a green faerie...
