Scud the Disposable Assassin: the Whole Shebang! by Rob Schrab

And this week sees the release of the near complete omnibus of Scrab's post-Rapture anti-hero series. Scud's are robot assassins you would buy from a vending machine. And once they eliminate their target they self destruct. But after spotting his warning label in a mirror, this Scud becomes self-aware and only maims his target. And then puts her comatose form in a hospital. Of course intensive round the clock care don't come free. So Scud becomes a free lance killer and bounty hunter. Dealing with the cyborg Mafia, aliens, werewolves, freak-show hired guns and the agents of Hell and the Angelic Bringers of the Apocalypse. And maybe, just maybe, along the way he discovers the true meaning of friendship and love...

Really its a book full of nerd jokes, truly bizarre character concepts and violence. And undead dinosaurs. And spoofs of movies. And a teen-age jewel thief who ends up running around without her pants. And a killer robot Casanova that looks kind of like a bunny. And a werewolf attempting to get to the Moon. And a young boy's quest to rescue his family. And love. Did we mention the love?

30 bucks for a book thick enough to choke a monkey. Chock full of awesome. Go get some!

How do you put Luc Besson and Guy Ritchie together to make a movie and produce something that makes me want to slap them both around?

Sadly I can't explain WHY this movie is so fucking terrible without spoiling major plot points and theres a chance you may want to see how bad this is for yourself. Lets just say that after the first ten minutes not a single gods' damned thing makes any fucking sense. Plus Ritchie seems to caught whatever disease modern Brit crime filmmakers have that makes them think lots and lots of trick shots and multiple POV set-ups are really really cool. They're not. At least not in the amount people are using them...

Such a disappointment...
