What the hell is with everyone getting various levels of the plague the last several weeks? I ain't leaving my bag shields until I stop seeing all these posts about how someone has spent the last several days near death...

Me, I feel fine. I mean for my normal levels of "fine"...

A decent enough adaptation, though it falls into the normal pitfalls of 80s BBC scifi. That is the special effects budget was probably in the single digits and the acting is so laid back the actors seem to be taking a nap in many cases. So far, I've yet to see or hear about an adaptation that really manages to capture the first four books. That is the good books in the series...

I do like this version of Marvin though...

Still no new Jack Staff. But to make up for it, my comics shop gave me an IOU for a free issue when the reorder comes in. So thats nice...

I did get the issue of Suicide Squad I missed last week. In this issue the Squad smashes the "bad" guys. Oh and Waller and the Squad get betrayed by some of her own people. Which happens in EVERY story arc I think. She should really just plan for that. It should be in the official briefings.

"Step 4, one or more of you betray us and make me mad."

*shrug*

I also decided to start picking up the new issues of The Spirit for a bit. I didn't get the Cooke issues, planning to grab the eventual trade or two. But I figure Sergio Aragones, Mark Evanier and Mike Ploog are a team I want give a chance. Not sure what to think. Very old school feel to it, which seems to fit the few stories of the original I've read...

Ex Machina looks into the back story of Police Commissioner Angotti. And also shows some of her motivations for being such a hard-case towards Hundred. Both as mayor and from when he was a "super-hero"...

Next we've got The Programme which is getting somewhat heavy handed with the race war stuff. So society begins to break down and almost immeaditely The Man and American blacks go to war with each other? You'd think other minority groups would get drawn in. Also C.P. Smith's muddy art begins to really be a problem. Up to this point I had no idea that Senator Joe, the older U.S. super-human was black...

Then we go to the final issue of The Umbrella Academy's first mini. Stuff falls from space! Dueling orchestras! Sibling dysfunctional relationships! And even the return of the Eiffel Tower! I'm looking forward to Way's future comics projects...

Over with IDW we've got Angel: After the Fall. With the return of Lorne. And the Groosalug. Man all they need now is the return of Other Dimensional Xena Ninja Lady. Or maybe blonde cop lady. What was her name?

Next up is G0dland. Where you have Adam Archer going all out against the Triad and their Zarathustra Beast. And Maxim attempts to stop the planet boring missile thing. Oh and Basil and Tormentor continue to work towards their revenge on Nickelhead...

The the villainous Seismic returns in Invincible. And he manages to catch nearly every hero on Earth off guard and use his underground monster hordes to capture them...

And we finish with Knights of the Dinner Table, with the A plot being about the World of Hack mmorpg. Which exemplifies everything I dislike about some of the hard-core real life Hackmaster fans and PPV players...
