A follow-up anthology to Elrod's previously edited My Big Fat Supernatural Wedding anthology. Though only one of the stories seems to be an actual sequel. But lets look at each.

"Stalked" by Kelly Armstrong follows her werewolf family from Bitten. And like that book its a well-written piece that just doesn't click with me. I just don't LIKE any of the characters involved in this series...

"Heorot" by Jim Butcher is a Harry Dresden story that goes into the background of Gentleman Jim Marcone supernatural bodyguard. And also involves a kidnapped woman from a beer festival...

"Roman Holiday" by Rachel Caine is the only sequel. Where the newly married captain and heroine from the previous story get to deal with OTHER crews of eternally, damned sailing ships. For given values of damned and eternal of course. Oddly this one I liked more than the first, the exact opposite reaction I had to Caine's Weather Warden series...

"Her Mother's Daughter" by P.N. Elrod is a quick and light Jack Fleming tale. Which involves a kidnapped groom, a VERY angry bride and mobsters...

"Newlydeads" by Caitlin Kittridge has to do with a pseudo Constantine type and his partner a cop and supernatural conduit or something. The story seems pretty well tied to whatever supernatural series Kittridge normally writes and left me cold so I ended up skimming it...

"Where the Heart Lives" by Marjorie M. Liu is has the feel of a deLint or Brust "modern" fairy tale. Not surprising in a story with vaguely witch like hermit women, stolen brides and lonely sidhe queens...

"Cat Got Your Tongue" by Katie MacAlister seems to be a prequel or something to her series. I think. Its another one that didn't do anything for me. With a haunted castle, a surprise family curse (that relies VERY heavily on one character not having any real clue as to their family history) and estranged spouses...

"Half of Being Married" by Lilith Saintcrow feels like a World of Darkness fan fiction. One where Buffy's nerdy Slayer cousin marries a werewolf vampire hunter. Another one I just skipped for the most part...

And finally there is "A Wulf in Groom's Clothing" by Ronda Thompson. Which just has the feel of a bonus chapter to a Harlequin romance. With a tacked on werewolf plot. Plus the writer overuses a couple phrases, which adds into the Romance Fic feeling of the story. Its not terrible. Just nothing special...

Sadly I wouldn't recomend this collection. Nothing really stands out beyond the Elrod and Butcher stories. Luckily this is my room-mate's book so I didn't spend money on it...

A massive haul this week. Helped along by my finally getting the Season 6 Angel: After the Fall from IDW. You know, I have to say getting canceled is definitely letting Whedon and his friends tell bigger stories with this and Buffy. I mean I doubt the WB (or CW) would have sprung for Angel to ride around on a dragon the first several episodes...

Also from IDW is a new Transformers: Devastation with still another player entering into what was already a 3-way conflict between the U.S. military, the Autobots and the Decepticons...

Next up is a book that I shouldn't be buying. Marvel's New Warriors. Because it is nothing but utter ass. Shit writing. Terrible art. I'm sticking by it for the dumbest of reasons. Fanboy nostalgia for a years gone property I once loved. I mean the writing on this thing is about as subtle as a grenade down the pants. And I'm looking at a page with Jubilee, Angel, the former Winddancer and the former Stacy X. And the only way I can tell their faces apart is by hair style. FOUR different ethnicities and they look the same. Though I do owe Paco Medina an apology since he's not doing the art. Its some hack guy named Jon Malin...

Then DMZ has another one-shot. This time with DJ Random Fire and Trustwell fucking with a rave. I would have liked to learn more about the ex-Trustwell lady though...

And on 100 Bullets one of the still standing Trust board members hires a semi-retired Minuteman to help her out. I should really reread the last dozen issues to remind myself who is still in the game at this point...

Over on The Programme civilized society in the U.S. begins to break down as the government seems helpless against the Russian supers. Though Max and Senator Joe finally come into play against them...

In Groo: Hell on Earth the environment continues to fall apart, most everyone still look only at short term gains and Groo and his army wander in search of the "enemy"...

Next on FEAR Agent its revealed why Mara chooses to betray humanity. To get a chance at revenge. And Heath and Kieth (Charlotte's new husband) are forced to battle it out Kirk/Spock Gladiator style...

And the members of The Umbrella Academy continue their mad-cap ways. With Vanya playing her opening movement for her angry Apocalypse. Poor monkey never saw it coming...

And then we'll wrap the week with a new Fell. Gods, how I've missed this book. I wish it was coming out weekly. I really do...
