I budgeted almost perfectly for today. That makes me happy. Having 2 dollars for the next 30 odd hours, not so happy. Still, I shouldn't actually NEED any money until Friday. But enough of my whinging about poverty. COMICS!

Starting with a new Maintenance. Where our intrepid janitorial heroes learn that Manny's secret crush, Mendy the Secretary has been traded by one of the lab doctors for alien techs. And thats the kind of thing a janitor just can't take. ROAD TRIP!

Next up is Nova where ex-lovers Nova and Gamora are reunited briefly again. To fight space vampire amoeba thingies. Stupid space thingies...

Then we've got B.P.R.D. 1946 with the newly founded group investigating Nazi occultism in the ruins of Berlin. Though sadly those damn Commies got all the best schwag already. Stupid commies...

And we finish with Suicide Squad. Which since it has Deadshot and others still on the team, means it takes place before most of Salvation Run. I guess. Anyway you've got the General plotting against old rival Waller and activating his own plants on the Squad. Plus new members Sister Twister (a Wolfman/Perez Titan foe who showed up ONCE before. And is now a crazy nun) and Windfall an ex-villain turned hero turned villain turned..wait. GANG-RAPE VICTIM? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!? You took the character's already fairly fucked up origin (experimented on pre-natally by her own parent) and ADD A FUCKING FRATENERITY GANG-RAPE?

FAIL. GIANT PILES OF GOD'S DAMNED FAIL!

MightyGodKing scouts American Gladiators for his Commie masters. You Canadians are Commies still right?

I wonder how other countries will build their Super Soldiers. I mean, Japan's got Ninja Warriors. We've got Gladiators. But what will the EU do? Or Soviet Canada? And what of Paraguay?

At the prompting of the Fortress Keeper I tried to figure out what my top 10 comics for last year would have been. And I managed to bludgeon my brain into a half-thought out Top 10. Which pretty much immediately became a Top 13...

A top 10 for last year? Hard to say. I'd have to agree on the GLI/Deadpool one-shot. And Shazam/Monster Society...

Hmmm. Toss in the relaunches of Nova and Blue Beetle. Oni's The Damned. The pure surprise and joy of The Umbrella Academy. The ongoing and constant reoccurring awesome of ps238. The return of Rocket Raccoon in Annihilation: Conquest: Star-Lord. The sexy and zany Empowered. And the combo of Jeff Parker's main story and Colleen Coover's art on the odd back-up for X-Men: First Class...

So barring me remembering something else and in no relevant order...

1. GLI/Deadpool Summer Fun Spectacular
2. Shazam! and the Monster Society of Evil
3. Empowered
4. Annihilation: Conquest: Star-Lord
5. ps238
6. The Umbrella Academy
7. X-Men: First Class
8. The Damned
9. Blue Beetle
10. Nova

And really I want a way to cram Criminal and Casanova and Jack of Fables into that list...
