"Teldar Paper, Mr. Cromwell, Teldar Paper has 33 different vice presidents each earning over 200 thousand dollars a year. Now, I have spent the last two months analyzing what all these guys do, and I still can't figure it out. One thing I do know is that our paper company lost 110 million dollars last year, and I'll bet that half of that was spent in all the paperwork going back and forth between all these vice presidents. The new law of evolution in corporate America seems to be survival of the unfittest.

Well, in my book you either do it right or you get eliminated. In the last seven deals that I've been involved with, there were 2.5 million stockholders who have made a pretax profit of 12 billion dollars.

Thank you.

I am not a destroyer of companies. I am a liberator of them!

The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed, for lack of a better word, is good.

Greed is right, greed works. Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit. Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA. Thank you very much."

Sadly the Dr. 13 tpb I wanted was sold out. Happily this meant I didn't go over budget on comics. Of course I then had to buy a new belt so my budget is fried from that, but still. Not from comics...

First off, despite my store getting shorted AGAIN on their re-orders, I got last weeks Casanova. Which was pretty cool, since even the shop clerks had no idea how it ended up in my box. I mostly mention this to taunt [profile] screwjeffowens who gets no Cassanova. Haha Jeff! All for me! I bet its because Fraction hates vegetarians. Eat a cow Veggie Boy! The comic itself is a tale of murder-for-hire and time traveling hotties...

Then we've got Annihilation: Conquest Quasar with Heather going through a power shift and then the girls race against the Super-Adaptoid to attempt and rescue the mysterious "Savior" from the Phalanx...

Next we go to The Programme where we meet some of the killer Soviet super-humans and the U.S. desperately attempts to activate their own sleeper super-beings...

After that we stop in on Ex Machina where Mayor Hundred gets an invite to go to Rome and meet John Paul II. But some mysterious evil Russians (I guess its Evil Russian week) have their own sinister plans to take advantage of the meeting..

From there its Army@Love where the squad (still minus Flabbergast) deals with some elephants, Healey has "fun" in Mongolia and, well, people have freaky sex...

Next some family fun as the Dynamo5 team deals with Chrysalis, the new Whiptail, the government a-holes running F.L.A.G. and their sort of evil sibling...

And we end with Gerard Way (of My Chemical Romance) and Gabriel Ba's The Umbrella Academy. How to describe this. Hmmm. The first issue has a group of super-powered kids fight an animated Eiffel Tower. Then things get weird and awesome...

The latest Firefox upload has screwed up the fonts on all the webcomics I've checked so far. And really anything that isn't whatever basic text LJ uses as a default. How do I fix this?

Edit to add: All my icons are blurred and the wrong size. Hobbes isn't dancing. Not happy...

Edit again: Ok clearing cookies and then resetting the image size from 120% back to default seems to have fixed it...

Ok, from this joke post comes this joke response:

ZOMG HOW DARE U BTRAY TEH FEMINIST HIVE VAGINA STEPH WUZ TEH BEST ROBIN EVAR SHES GONNA COME BACK AND BECOME BATMAN STFU.

Which got me thinking. A Batman story, set say 25 years up the time-line, with a reborn Steph (resurrected earlier by a re-empowered Secret) as The Bat. With Tim and Kon's cloned teen-age son as her Robin. Hmmm. Maybe bring back all the dead Gotham heroes. With the old guard retired. A robot with Azzies memories as The Hunter. Tim the new Oracle. Get Morrison or one of the other mad Brits to write. It could work...
