New Comics Day

Ready. Set. COMICS!

We'll start with Ex Machina, which finishes up the "Power Down" arc. The other-dimensional visitor delivers some cryptic warnings, January continues sneaking about and Bradbury busts some looters. Also we get to see some more of the Machine on 9/11...

Then we go to Army@Love where Healey and his wife Allie have a reunion, the Switzer's come clean with each other about everything and Flabbergast loses his FUCKING mind...

Then its Rick Spears and Rob G's latest Repo. This time the pair are doing a cyberpunk/pulp noir mash up. Worth it for the panel of a CroMag taking a brick to the balls...

After that we've got The Weird World of Jack Staff King Size Special with the titanic team-up of ?Q and The Starfall Squad. The two groups do not mesh well...

And we finish up with Annihilation: Conquest - Prologue. Look Marvel, I'm going to be an easy mark for pretty much everything Annihilation related. I mean you've got Nova (awesome), the lesbian pairing of the daughters of Drax the Destroyer and Captain Mar-vell (double awesome), mad crazy action in space. And fucking Rocket fucking Raccoon. There is nothing here that does not flip all my switches. So I'm basically pre-sold. Especially when you add Abnett and Giffen into the mix as writers. But would it kill you to make the timing on the releases work better? I mean I would have liked to have been able to get the 3rd Annihilation trade BEFORE Conquest started. So, you know, I'd have more of a connection to some of these characters...

On that, I could agree more with you. In a lot of ways, comic blogging feels a lot like high school did. Makes you think about things in a different perspective, when you notice that. :)

No Jimmy, comics blogging, like any community feels like a diverse collection of people. Full of cliques, feuds, pettiness, civil discussion, crushes, hot-headed tantrums and bullies. So in that way like high school. And grade school. And college. And any job involving more than 2 people. And EVERY OTHER DAMN area of ANY fandom EVER. Your high school analogy is just your way of passive-aggresively trying to make it seem like you're more mature than any one else involved in a discussion. You're not Jimmy. If you were more mature than the rest of us you wouldn't be wasting who knows how much time fostering internet feuds and scanning blog after blog for content you disagree with. You ass...

1. I know you've lost weight recently. How have you changed your eating habits to lose the weight?

Mostly I attempted to avoid processed sugars and constant snacking. This generally involves not being anywhere near the damn food. My willpower is weak. Mostly its the drugs and with them my weight seems to have leveled off mostly. To really lose weight I should be exercising regularly...

2. What comic hero do you find overrated?

Over-rated? Not sure. Over-used? Wolverine and Punisher for Marvel. For DC? Not a hero, but Deathstroke...

3. Favorite gaming system?

For fantasy RPGs? Its still HackMaster. TSR's old MSH system for supers. Though I really want to give stuff like GURPS, IronClaw or Fading Suns a full run thru...

4. Would you want to play with any of the 'Knights of the Dinner Table' crew?

The cast or the writers? For the cast, I'd like to pick out a mash-up table. Sara, Dave, Crush and Nitro. The writers? Not so much. Dave Kenzer is everything I dislike in the HackMaster gaming community. I'm not sure about whether I'd want to game with Jolly or Steve Plemmons...

5. Have you checked out Ring of Honor wrestling?

I've caught a few YouTube videos, but I don't think they ever work the South-west. I know Spoony is VERY much hoping that they become more available...
