My comics' shop underordered the Beyond! HC trade so I didn't get one. But they ordered me another one. So hopefully I'll get it next week. So instead I grabbed the 3rd trade of Brian Wood/Rob G's The Couriers. High octane action movie goodness. Oh and the 3rd trade for B.P.R.D.. Because who doesn't like psychics and freaks fighting frog monsters?

On the pull list we start with the 5th and final issue of Truth, Justin and the American Way. Kurtz and Williams again manage to balance the 80s pop references with more general gags, some decent character driven writing and a nice wedding interupting brawl...

Then its Kurtz again with a new PvP. As always a nice comic, even if I can't spot any comics that aren't web reprints. The cover story focuses on a "Freaky Friday" style body swap parody with Brent and Skull. And then the bottom strip on page 17. *sigh* More on that elsewhere...

But first we get a big ass story arc finale for Casanova. Traitors are revealed! Family is rescued! A team of wicked cool preporations is formed!

And then we wrap up with a new G0dland. Only sixty cents! With the issue only slightly moving the plot forward, mostly serving to recap past events for new readers...

Picked up the latest issue of PvP with my new comics this week. And for the second time Kurtz includes a strip that was part of some petty web feud. In this case the Manley "dick and fart jokes" blog entry. Something that happened at some point last year. So its a joke that is mostly a dig at another web cartoonist type person. Actually I have no idea if Manley writes a comic, I just know him as the owner for various comics hosting sites...

But anyway, Kurtz manages to salvage I decent joke using Chaucer's use of crude humor to make his point. But still, the strip is mostly a dig at Manley. So its a joke where only people who know about the various Manley/Kurtz feuds are going to fully get. And of that small sub-set of potential readers, I can't be the only one who found it petty and pointless the FIRST time around...

I like Kurtz's stuff. I mean I'm buying a comic that is essentially reprints of stuff I've already read (and can continue to read) for free online. But there are times I want to just give up on him. And its because of his seeming willingness to nurse pointless internet grudges. And then try to drag them off the web even...

Am I alone in this? Am I the only one who wonders how long Kurtz (and even others) can continue to nurse these petty grudges?
