New Comics Day
Jan. 17th, 2007 02:57 pmAnd with only 1 title for this week's pull list, I still somehow manage to spend over $50 on comics. How? Mad skills baby! Well that and a couple trades and maybe a delayed comic might have had something to do with it...
From LAST week we have the next Phonogram, with Kohl still searching for his Goddess or something. Questing or something. I really have no clue. There are certain difficulties in reading a comic that is about a sub-culture I wouldn't have been cool enough to be part of even I had known about it...
Next I finally manage to come upon an issue of the new volume of Castle Waiting. I get to meet some of the dwarf-types mentioned briefly in the first volume and get some more clues as to the father of Jayne's baby. I guess I need to hit Fantagraphic's site and order the rest of the issues...

And tonight I manage to catch both shows for the second time. Knights is still very funny. And I'm still rooting for this band of losers to succeed in their crazy scheme to rob Mick Jagger...
In Case still isn't very watchable. The characters have managed to move from detestable to bland & annoying. Definately a pointless mess of a show that is a waste of 30 minutes...

Where the Buffalo Roam
Jan. 17th, 2007 11:26 pmAn interesting enough movie. Bill Murray as Hunter S. Thompson and Peter Boyle as Lazlo the Lawyer. The movie is bookended by scenes of Murray/Thompson working on meeting another deadline and deciding to write up several stories about him and Lazlo. A drug trial. A gun deal. And a meeting with Nixon. Not a great movie, but a decent one, mostly for Murray and Boyle...
