New Comics Day
Jan. 4th, 2007 02:32 pmOnly had 1 title missed this week thanks to Diamond's skill at shipping comics. And I got my delayed stuff from last week. Plus my copies of Blankets and Lost Girls ($48 books from Amazon, WOO!) arrived today. Oh and I splurged on the trade of the original Squadron Supreme. From back when deconstructing super-heroes was cool and original. And flipped thru the various Civil War books and tie-ins. I LOATHE Penance by the way. FUCKING. LOATHING. HATE.
Anyway to the pull list. First up is Powers, where Bendis still hates super-heroes, super-hero fandom but loves cop shows. Seriously he's no Garth Ennis, but you can't tell me the man actually ENJOYS the genre that pretty well pays for his kid's college fund...
Next I finally get my Jack of Fables where Jack tells some other escaped Fables some stories about his past in the Homelands. I still wonder how they have escaped Fables from time periods years (even Centuries) after the Last Castle events took place. I mean, I enjoy seeing characters like the various Ozians, Pecos Bill or Alice, I just wonder HOW they came to exsist. Also for a Vertigo title, they're being surprisingly coy about nudity...
Then we've go to a new FEAR Agent where Heath meets up his "replacements" picks several fights and then gets drunk. Its always important to play to your strengths...
And last up is a new Savage Dragon where the titanic team of Battle-axe and Dark Dragon take on the even more titanic team of Dragon, She-Dragon, Alex Wilde and Angel. Ka-Boom!
