Oh man. The Pippa joke. Not the joke itself. But Jack and Mary's reaction to it. One of the best bits of metahumor I've seen in quite some time. Even the authorial "There was a pause." bit...

Ok, so from what I can recall (and gather from other peoples monthly book lists) the "goal" of this was to read at least 50 books (there might have been a secondary page count thing but I can't recall it). Keeping in mind that I didn't do a list for last January, I hit 50 early in April. Over 11 months I read 246 books. Granted, several were books that were reread over the year. And a few weren't finished because I disliked them. Still whatever the page count total number was supposed to be, I'm pretty sure I smashed it flat. Hell, if I read as LITTLE in January as I did in October or Novemember than I more than quadrupled the total books needed. Part of this is simply that I have more free time than many of the people I saw doing this. I don't go out much beyond gaming. I don't date. I'm not taking classes. And I work nights. Still, thats a lot of books...

I need cake.

There is no cake in the house.

There is pie. But I am managing to resist eating it

Which is hard because its apple pie with a caramel crust.

I had a sugar-free pudding snack instead.

It tasted vaguely like pudding and vaguely like chocolate and mostly like the Lack of Cake.

I need chok'lit cake...

I get Boomerang now? When did that happen?

Dear Sweet Gay Jeebus. G4 is showing COPS now. Do they just pick their lineup with pages from tv guide and a lawn dart?

Flipping past HBO while its airing The Producers I catch part of Broderick's "I want to be a producer" song. And the bit where he tells the big-toothed, "ugly" red-haired chorus girl "Not you". You can see how he's just crushed her. Utterly and totally destroyed her. She's struggling not to burst into tears on the spot. And then she just vanishes from the dance sequence. Never have I wanted to punch Broderick in the kidneys more and I saw Project X in the theaters...
