Heinlein

Websnark aka [livejournal.com profile] demiurgent has recently put up several of his inbetween journal stuff onto the beginning of his regular non-LJ blog.  And one of those old entries is about Heinlein . Which leads me to a confession. One that may harm my standing as ScienceFiction nerd. I don't get Heinlein. At all. I've read various of his novels, and maybe I'm just reading the wrong ones. Maybe I should grab a copy of Stranger in a Strange Land and read that. And then I'll understand the genius that is Heinlein. But I found Starship Troopers intresting but not spectuclar, was VASTLY disappointed by Farnum's Freehold, hate The Cat who Walks thru Walls with a rabid passion and was mildly entertained by Friday. Then again I've only read Asimov's short stories and essays and never got around to his novels. And I found Clarke to be a dissapointment as well... Maybe its the whole "Golden Age" of sci-fi I'm not getting...

This is the problem with LJ: we all think we are so close, but in actuality we know nothing about each other.

I'm going to rectify it. I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

Then post this in your LJ and find out what people don't know about you.
