lurkerwithout | 7th Sea: Session 1

This week we began our 7th Sea campaign. Somewhat in the center of the group story is Bryon's Vodacce(Italian) Fate Witch/Smuggler captain. Violetta Vipora is a militant feminist and a member of the Sophia's Daughters' society. Frazer is Yule, a young former farm lad and whaler from Ussura (Russia) looking to build renown and wealth in order to be able to court the land owners' daughter from his home. And the roommate is Karl Breughal, a former Essen (German) soldier turned mercenary looking eventually get revenge on the man responsible for the death of his family and theft of their home.

So for their starting Story, Violetta is tasked by the Daughters to transport a young girl named Angelina from Mondavi on the gulf coast of Vodacce to a safe house in Wische, a town on the north-western coast of Essen. Karl (who hates witches and all sorcery) and Yule have been hired as the girl's bodyguards. As Violetta collects the others at a dockside tavern they are interupted by a Brute Squad led by a Montaigne priest named Father Joseph.

Karl intimidates the priest into not getting involved in the brawl, while Yule's vast strength takes out the first group with a table turned battering ram (with some assistance from Violetta). Then as a second Brute Squad pours in, Karl holds them at the door, while Yule smashes thru a back window and Violetta escorts their charge from the scene. And we ended our first session there, since much of the night was spent finallizing characters and their indiviual stories and backgrounds.
