We started the session with it being the evening after we arrived back in town. And with Brendan's sorceror cured of the ghoul disease the plan was to make an early night of it and get an early start after a full night's rest. So of course we had a visit from Emile, our ratfolk investigator, who was drunk after gambling with some gnomes. But he had tracked down the owners of the surgical tools we'd found at the swamp village graveyard...
And then the group's rest was interupted again. This time by a lynch mob looking to break out the "Beast" for some street justice. My tengu was the only one who failed to wake up from the crowd noise, so I sat out the group dealing with that. Between Brendan's diplomacy speech-a-fying, Cat Stevens just bribing large groups into going back to the bars and doing some more drinking and the strange and unsettling sight of Cunto's glowing wang...what? Oh yeah, Matt decided that his character would head off for mob quelling naked, with only a blanket and his enchanted club. Which for some reason meant casting light and illuminating his war preist's nethers. Realy, given he was two beers and two cognacs in it was an almost sensible act for Matt. But anyway, they managed to turn back the mob with no actual fatalties...
The next morning saw us doing some quick info gathering pre-trial. Using a speak with dead scroll on the skull of the asylum doctor, mending his business journals and interviewing the surviving, if maimed and blinded, assitant from the asylum. This led us to a pair of chemists in town, who were also the owner's of said surgical tools. So we decided to question them, after instructing the "Beast"s lawyer to stall in case we ended up being late for the final trial...
The chemists used to allow us onto their property and when the group entered their yard we were attacked by a flesh golem hound. Well, the rest of the group was, my tengu had flown up onto the roof to cover things. Despite some serious damage reduction and near total spell immunity we eventually put the creature down, with a great deal of thanks owed to the sobered-up Emile and the holding acions of the Popov brothers. And because of the slow side-effect from the sorceror attempting to light it up with a scorching ray everyone survived the patchwork monster doggie...
