New Comics Day

Only two titles this week. Got a new Knights of the Dinner Table. Nice issue so far from the quick skimming. Sara is going to run the guys through a parody version of the Buffy Rpg. And my friend Noah's Starship Troopers rant. Good stuff.

Also a new 100 Bullets. With Loop and Lono out of prison and looking fly. Plus picking up Victor. Not a lot happens, but as always great dialogue and art.

I also flipped thru a preview issue of DC's next big EVENT thing. Infinity something or other. And for those you who didn't care for "Identity Crisis"? You're going to hate this one. A lot. I mean I'm kinda not liking what they're doing, and I never tend to worry about the "big events"...

Ah, you read it then. Its supposedly by Johns, Winnick and Metzler. Three of my favorite DC writers. And yet they seem to be tearing apart the characters from the Giffen era...

It's because they're all jealous they lack the talent of Giffen, even when combined.

geffen's JLI proved comic characters could be fully developed and not fucked up antiheroes and villians

Giffen changed comics with JLI, and nothing the three of them can do actual STORY wise will ever achieve his ability, so instead, they kill his characters.

While I don't agree that the three can't match Giffen storywise, I am annoyed to see what they're doing with Max. I mean it makes no real sense...

My belief is non of today's writers can tell a truly good story. Clairmont and Byrne? They suck now.

Today's modern writers need death or shock or aids or something Russo-esque twist because they can't tell a really good story. The Geffens, the Gunewalds, the moore, the geffen, the Starlins, the Demattis', their age is gone and are replace by hokey "MATURE READER" attempts.
