Fiction Writer: For fiction... Robert Parker. I've always been a sucker for the Spenser series of books.

Sports Writer: Rob Neyer on ESPN, but the bastards make you pay to read him. Peter Gammons is still free, though.

Opinion Writer: PJ O'Rourke. Technically he leans to the right, but I've found his writings to be pretty even-handed. Plus, he's both hysterical and observant.

TV Show: Mythbusters... The Amazing Race is my favorite show, but Mythbusters is second. Gotta love a show that finds out if dropping a penny from the Empire State Building will kill a person through scientific means.
