When I see the word "jump" used in a financial sense, I assume it means "increase". So I thought you were saying that your bills went up by $100+ compared to last year.
To be honest, my electric bill here in NYC isn't much better than yours. Granted, we've had a bad summer this year -- regularly hitting mid-to-high 90s for a month straight, with *NASTY* humidity to make it feel like it's well over 100 degrees. (I'm sure your temps were higher, but you didn't have our humidity problem.)
