New Comics Day: 1-21-09
Jan. 21st, 2009 08:20 pmA very light pull this week. Less than a half-dozen titles...
Starting with Angel: After the Fall, which brings a close to the gang's adventures in the pocket dimension Hell. I wonder what happened to the fish though...
A new Knights of the Dinner Table has some strong strips, especially the Black Hands playing Cattlepunk and the Hard8 story line. I do wonder how exactly the Hat of Oppulent Lodging is able to work in Bag World. I mean it should be another extra-dimensional device, which would cause a Reshuffle. Oh and the movie guy still sucks. Forbidden Planet? Really? You're giving advice on gamer-fying Shakespeare in Space?
100 Bullets is almost over, but first a reshuffling of the surviving members of the Trust and the last of the Minutemen begin to gather for the finale...
Guardians of the Galaxy takes a visit to the 42 prison in the Negative Zone. Where Blastaar's forces are fighting the super-powered prisoners. This issue also has some new artists. Who honestly need to be shown how to draw Rocket Raccoon. Because there's looks like shit...
And last up is Paul Tobin's Dr. Doom and the Masters of Evil. In this first issue Doom hires the Sinister Six to rob Tony Stark. I'm not sure when this is supposed to be set, but I'm thinking before Sandman's face and return to heel turns and Kraven's Last Hunt. Fun book...
