And we have comics. Stupid holiday. I didn't get a weekend off. UPS dudes should have been all shipping and stuff. No holiday weekends for people who aren't me!

*sigh*

Anyway, Diamond FINALLY sent my LCS vol.4 of Empowered. And its a truly wonderful and beautiful thing. The Caged Demon-wolf is truly a god-like being after my own perverted heart...

In regular books we've got the next Marvel Zombies 3. Where despite my joy in Van Lente's writing, because who doesn't love watching robots destroy zombie super-humans, this issue hits one of the stumbling blocks on why I never picked up the previous series. Because they're dumb. No really. This issue has zombie Ghost Rider. Yes. The DEMONIC SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE has become a flesh-crazed zombie. Thats just fucking stupid. Yes it allows for a gag of Aaron Stack stealing his bike. But it still highlights my greatest annoyance with this concept. No one is immune to being zombied. Except maybe robots. I don't know. But it doesn't allow for any internal logic of the setting. It has a premise. All the super-humans get turned into zombies. And nothing is allowed to work against that. Healing factors? Invulnerability? Being a FUCKING HERALD OF GALACTUS? Nope. Zombie food or zombie. Only options. Bugs the fucking HELL out of me...

On a lighter note is the next Wolverine/Power Pack. With the Power kids joining Logan for a session in the Danger Room and then a day attending classes at the school. I love Jack's crush on Kitty...

Criminal 2 finishes up the "Bad Night" story-arc with more murder and double crosses. And now, sadly, the book will go on hiatus while Brubaker does a book about a super-villain in the witness relocation program. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of Brubaker revisiting doing a supers/noir mash-up like Sleeper was. But I'd just rather have more Criminal. The little mini-essays are where I'm getting a lot of recomendations for movies and books to check out. Like lawyer and co-founder of PROTECT and writer Vachss' "Burke" series...

Only one Image book this week, the next I Hate Gallant Girl. Rookie hero Tempest and her mentor Blue Thunder discover that something may be rotten with the heroic Fellowship of Freedom. The team that Blue Thunder is a member of and that sponsors the Gallant Girl hero contest...

And only one DC book, and a Vertigo one at that. Army@Love: The Art of War goes all quantum. Like alternate universes and stuff. Which may explain the Rick Veitch in Gitmo openings from this second volume...

And Knights of the Dinner Table this week. The Knights finally catch up with Randy the Halfling and a giant brawl ensues. Though more focus is given to Hard8 this time around, with more Heidi trying to "fix" the company. Also, the new movie guy? He still sucks. I mean he's pushing the NEW "Death Race" movie. And then giving vague "advice" on adapting it for rpgs. Seriously. Dude sucks. And thats even if Noah wasn't a friend...

And we'll finish with the too long absent Mouse Guard: Winter: 1152. Mouse vs. Owl combat in the snow! Bat vengeance! Mouse Guard folk songs! I can only hope that this series continues despite publisher Archaia Studio Press' recent collapse and buy-out...

"Yes. The DEMONIC SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE has become a flesh-crazed zombie."

[Bangs head on desk]

No...No...No... This is even worse than when they killed and ate the Silver Surfer. Yeah.

This ends in death
