In other electionery, there were only 3 local elections I really cared about (though AZ did elect more Dems then Reps to the House): Prop 102 (anti-gay marriage) and Maricopa County Attorney and County Sheriff. Arizona voted to change our state constitution to define marriage as Man + Woman, which makes me sad. Florida passed a similar proposition as well it looks like (Prop 2 for them). California's Prop 8 is at 52% Yes right now with about a 1/3 of the vote counted. So there's still hope on that one at least...
As for the County officials, both Sheriff Joe and his County Attorney crony got re-elected. Though the C.A. vote was 51.6 - 44.1 and Joe had 55.5 - 41.9, with the leftover % going to the Lib canidate for each. Much closer than either has seen in a long while...
So in the midst of being thrilled with the big wins, I'm dissapointed that something as simple as equal rights for everyone can still be missed because too many are still scared of those "icky gays"...
