The Foreigner

At one point I thought they movie would go extra bleak and have the "hero" be partly responsible for getting a whole plane load of people killed but instead they just had a wounded prisoner get tortured for information.  Also while I do enjoy Grampa Badass Chan stalking and commando style harassing Brosnan, the earlier bits where he just staggers around all broken with grief are really impressive.
