Pathfinder: Frazier Session 2
May. 6th, 2015 06:55 amThis session we were down to only three players, with the roommate still on his training schedule at work and BIll having finals and a death in the family. So it was just my Tengu, Matt's savage war priest and Eric's new fighter to go on a side quest. But first a swarm of birds. Seems that the entire local mockingbird population took Matt's offer of grain for the location of the goblin camp to mean that they could have ALL the grain on the farm. Leading to a quck fight with a giant swarm of birds. And us with no area effect attacks or spells...
Still we saved the farmers from the birds and then learned that most of the deaths in the local farms wasn't so much the goblins but actually a horrible gyrfulche. Which turned out to be a vulture griffon-variant. Erik's fighter had been introduced as a guard for a group of four merchant brothers, so we tucked in with them to travel to the nearest town. And so when the gyrfulche snatched one of them we set off on a rescue mission. Luckily for us Matt managed to tag it early with a poison dart that STR drained it and lowered its combat effectiveness by a lot...
It still managed to almost take down the war priest with it's automatic grapple on a succesful attack followed by auto rakes. But the beast was slain by Eric's hammer wielding fighter Armand and a charging power attack and the merchant was rescued. And thus level 4 was attained by all. Huzzah for Callix becoming a 2/2 fighter/inquisitor...
