Pathfinder: Frazer Session 1
Apr. 15th, 2015 09:33 pmWe return to the faux Eastern Europe of Ustalov with our party waking up on the road after the not-Romani decamped from the final battle after party. Down to just three party members to start. Calix, my tengu fighter/inquisitor. Brendan's halfling sorceror with the cursed wound and horrible disease. And Bill's half-orc rogue master-of-disguise and thug skill set. Matt had lost his original character in the final battle with the Splatterman and would be bringing in a new character. And Eric had missed this session for family obligations...
So the trio sets off to find a ferry and get across a lake and begin the trek to a town to the north. Where we are supposed to deliver some books and other materials to a group of scholars or a university or something. And at the ferry we find Matt's half-savage war priest (a fighter/cleric mash-up class from one of the newer source books). So that gives us the mostly full party...
After that the group walks north for a bit, eventually ending up at a farm run by a pair of widowed sisters and the young daughter of one. From them we get the side quest hook of a group of goblins raiding the local area. The war priest (being a follower of a nature god) manages to get the location of the goblin camp from a mockingbird and the party heads after them...
The fight starts to go south for a bit. 'Cause of me and the half-orc getting mobbed by gobbo mooks and a couple of tougher character-level types. But eventually are individual tactics whittle down the goblins and we emerge triumphant. And left with a pit creche full of goblin babies. And then the group as a whole decides to just recover the pit and pass the issue of baby goblins over to the local farmers, letting them deal with the subequent 1000 page forum discussion on alignment and nature vs. nurture and all that....
Was a little weird to me that my DEX based combat build character ended up being the group tank...
