Pathfinder: Brendan Session 10
Jul. 2nd, 2014 08:47 pmLast night's session started out just checking off an area of the castle's first floor we thought would be empty. And we were correct. So then the rogue goes and sneakily checks the open air courtyard that leads to the remainder of the ground floor. Everything seems fine so the rest of the party moves forward. But then Matt decides that the well in the courtyard could lead to something super dangerous and convinces Frazier and Eric to help get a door to put over the well to cap it. And me and Bill are just, thats stupid. So we just take a seat on the steps to the Chapel of Evil while more than half the party goes to move a door. Yes, thats right we split the party in a haunted castle. Shut up...
Anyway, the castle is apparantly fed up with all our stone shaping and what not and wouldn't let them take the door. And attacked them with a couple minor ghosts to boot. Leaving my magus, Bill's cleric and his foo dog mount to get jumped by a quartet of plus-sized gargoyles. T.T. the cleric and Chew the Dog got pretty hammered. Like negative hit points, verge of death hammered. Apparantly even double-digit levels are of limited use when targeted for twenty plus attacks a round...
Luckily the rest of the party got back in time to finish off the gargoyles and save Bill and the dog. Just in time for the pair of banded devils to show up. Attracted by all the lightning and sonic blast attacks used against the gargoyles...
We ended the night with one devil destroyed and another trapped in the resilient sphere from a bead of force...
