Pathfinder: Brendan Session 2
Mar. 5th, 2014 11:28 pmHad our bi-weekly game a week early to get it back to meshing with everyone's regular schedules. And we started with some clean up from the previous week's orc battle. Basically cataloging the loots and checking in on the surviving orcs. Well orc, I suppose, since the one that got turned into a newt by our witch had wandered off. Interrogating the remaining orc we found that they were the remnants of a tribe tasked with watching the haunted castle of Scarwall for basically religious reasons. I ended up letting him run off after returning some of his gear. As a way of turning him into a potential henchmen later if I survive the whole haunted castle thing. I figure a 7th level orc fighter is a good place to start in reforming a pirate crew...
The next day saw us getting ready to go over the crater lake to the castle. But the instant we stepped on the bridge evil spirits stole the party's Spirit Guide lady. Me, I just met her last session so the seven day timer to free her doesn't mean too much to my character. A bit more important to the pair of previous session characters I suppose...
And so onto the bridge. Where, upon reaching the halfway point, a group sallied forth from the castle. An undead mounted knight and a squad of skellies. I webbed the lot of them and kept the fight to just the group and the knight, since his dead horse could fly. And in the ensuing fight the groups arcane archer found that grease on the ground doesn't effect something hovering. And Brendan unhappily figured out that the undead of the castle all being unhallowed and thus under protection from good, didn't mean that the cleric's foo dog mount couldn't gnaw on them. A decent little dust-up that started to see us working together better...
Then we managed to squeeze in a fight with the quartet of undead minotaur gate guards, where it took a couple rounds of getting hammered for us to get back to the point of working together again...
